Metadata Management & Quality Control
Rigorous metadata cleanup and standards that keep your catalog accurate, findable, and payable.
Bad metadata silently costs labels streams, placements, and royalties. This service audits your catalog’s metadata across distribution and platforms: titles and version labeling, artist and featured-artist credits, songwriter and publisher information, ISRC and UPC integrity, genre and language fields, and explicit-content flags. Errors are documented, corrected at the source, and redelivered where necessary so fixes propagate everywhere.
Beyond cleanup, we establish the standards that prevent recurrence: a metadata style guide for your label, a pre-delivery quality-control checklist, credit-verification steps with artists and producers, and a master catalog register your team maintains as the single source of truth for every title you own.
The audit and standards are produced by Ruben Burgos, UMG’s Architect & Founder, who personally reviews the findings with your team. Given his background in publishing and media, he treats credits and documentation with a publisher’s precision — and because he does this work himself, nothing important is waved through by an inattentive intermediary.
The Objective
To make your catalog’s data as professional as its music. The goal is recordings that are correctly credited, easily discovered, pitchable for sync, and payable without disputes or delays.
