DJ Contract & Rider Review Education
Education on DJ performance contracts and technical/hospitality riders — what to include, what to question, what to sign.
Handshake deals fail at the worst moments. This educational service teaches DJs to work professionally on paper: the essential elements of a performance agreement — date, hours, fee, deposit, cancellation terms, payment timing, equipment responsibilities — and how to build a technical and hospitality rider that states your setup, soundcheck, and hosting needs clearly and reasonably.
Instruction covers reviewing offers you receive as well: spotting unfavorable terms, understanding exclusivity and recording clauses, and knowing which points are standard, which are negotiable, and which should end the conversation. The goal is confidence, not conflict — paper that protects both sides is what professionals expect.
This education is delivered personally by Ruben Burgos, Architect & Founder of UMG Network Collective, drawing on decades of agreements across entertainment and business. Learning contracts from a founder who has signed them all his career turns a vulnerability into one of your professional strengths.
The Objective
To teach DJs to use contracts and riders that protect their fees, conditions, and reputation. The objective is every engagement confirmed in writing, professionally, before the performance begins.
